About Me

Hi! I’m Sanne, a Mama, a spouse, a photographer, a teacher, a traveller and a miscarriage survivor (times three).

That last piece of information is important to add, because it is why I started my Instagram account Road to Rainbow, which was later followed by this blog. It was at a time in my life that I felt the lowest I’ve ever felt, and I was able to connect with a community who knew what I was going through, as they were going through the same. It is something that is part of me and something that made me the person (and mom!) I am today. In addition to my blog being a creative and therapeutic outlet for myseld, I hope I can somehow contribute to destigmatizing pregnancy loss. If I can just inspire one person, or make one person feel like they are not alone, it is all worth it.

Who am I

Dutch born and raised, I moved across the ocean when I was 25 and ended up in Ontario, Canada to be with my Canadian fella 😉. I am a supply teacher which is awesome as it allows me to spend a lot of time with my son Finn. Fun fact, in addition to my teaching degree, I also have a Masters Degree in Child Development and I do photography on the side.

But my most important job is being a mama to our incredible double rainbow “baby” Finn.

I love:
– spending time with my family outdoors
– going on the hunt for good coffee places
– hopping on a plane every once in a while (more often if I could)
– mayonnaise with my fries (what’s up with you people putting ketchup on everything?)

I am so excited you landed here and that you’re interested in following my journey. Please don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you like my posts. I love connecting with my readers! And don’t forget to follow me on instagram!
